A fourteen months old girl spreads joy

It’s amazing how much happiness there is in this little girl. This little girl happens to be my 14 months old cousin, Nicole. She’s really a fabulous kid. She’s also in the stage when she is starting to express herself more clearly. She loves animals and can say (in sign language) dog, cat, fish, horse, cow and so on. She laughs at slightly small things and is a very easy kid. With easy, I mean she’s really a brave girl, who is not afraid of anyone, not even strangers, and is not too moody.

Most importantly, she adores me. It’s really wonderful being such a significant person to a wonderful little creature. That means I have a lot of responsibilities, though. For example, earlier today, I played with her and then had to leave to attend my night class in Film and history. I hugged her and got ready to leave. At that moment, she started crying. I felt bad and wanted to stay to make her smile again, but I knew she’d get over that somehow so I left.

After the class, I got back and she was just as happy as ever. I get impressed with her every time I see her. I remember seeing her the first time when she was more than one month old. I remember becoming one of her favorites when she was 10 months old. Unbelievably how quickly time passes. She’s growing fast. Imagine, I’ll be 38 when she graduates from high school. I feel old just by the thought of that and I’m only twenty!
