what life would be without my passion for running. I found my passion for running last year, when I signed up for Stockholm Marathon. Since then, I have realized that running really is one of the greatest things in my life. I can’t imagine who I would be today if I hadn’t begun running. It’s really changed me in a way. I have realized that I can do anything I want, if I just have a goal and do everything to reach that goal. I knew that before, but it was as if it was more, I really COULD do it after I ran the marathon. It was a dream coming true.
Last year, my goal was Stockholm Marathon. I did it on May 30, running 42195 metres on 4 hours, 39 minutes and 12 seconds.
After the Marathon, my goal was Malmö Blodomloppet. I ran 10 km on 54 minutes. After the Blodomloppet, I got myself into shape for Lidingöloppet, a 30k trail running race. I ran 30 km on 3 hours and 26 minutes on September 26.
Now, my goal until December is to run 10 km on 45 minutes. Today, I ran 4,5 km on 20 minutes. That equals about 4,30 minutes per km. If I kept the same pace on 10 km, that would be about 43 minutes. So the goal for 45 minutes on 10 km is not too far away. After reaching that goal, I’ll see if I can keep the same pace in a half marathon distance.
I love challenges and I’ve found my challenges in running. To run real long distances (marathons) as well as to improve my running pace to about 50 minutes/10 km in a marathon distance (that means 3 hours and 30 minutes in total) and 45 min/10 km (about 1 hour and 40 minutes in total) in a half marathon distance.
Next year, I’ll run the Copenhagen Marathon and the Broloppet (Oresund Bridge half marathon) 10 years anniversary. It’ll be two great challenges, since the marathon is on May 23 and the half marathon race is on June 12. It’s 3 weeks between the events. Hopefully, I’ll still do satisfying results in both races
Peace.
