A little update

I’m bad at updating, I know. I just feel this blogging thing isn’t my thing anymore. I will just be blogging if I have something I would like to share with you. It’s not that my life is not exciting enough, because it actually is. I keep myself busy all the time and I enjoy it.

Anyways, the point in updating this blog was this- 7 hours ago I passed the driving test! So now, finally after two years of driving, I got a drivers’ license and can drive on my own! Such an awesome feeling! FINALLY!

I’m good at most things, but it was driving that gave me headaches. I loved driving, but I just couldn’t focus at the driving theory and thought it was a pain in the ass. I failed the theory test four times! I nearly gave up, then waited several months and then gave it a shot again. Studied hard for 3 months, then passed! Did the driving test and failed. Failed again. Failed the third time. Decided to take driving classes at the driving school again. After five classes, I felt ready. Did the driving test. And passed! I believe I’m a pretty good driver, but to prove it wasn’t so easy.

So, I think you can imagine how happy I am to finally have done it. I didn’t give up. I wanted a drivers’ license and I did everything I could to get it. Now all my work has paid off.

cruciate ligament injury?

I was seeing the physical therapist today for my knee injury. She said she suspects it’s cruciate ligament, she even did those things, pulling/pushing my right leg to see where I did feel hurt. So now she has ordered me not to run for a few weeks until I will do a x-ray and follow the guidelines of rehabilitation from the orthopaedist.

It totally sucks. But those weeks without running, I’ll powerlifting instead (well, not legs as I should not strain them) and do some photographing again, as this hobby has been put on a rest ever since I focused on running. I guess I’m gonna do a lot of walking, too. I can promise you that the day I can finally run without problems, it’s gonna be my happiest day this year.

I have no idea if I still can run Copenhagen Marathon and 1/2 marathon (Öresundsbroloppet). But it’s still not impossible, it’s all about how serious the cruciate ligament injury is and how fast I can heal the injury from doing the rehabilitation.

Never soccer again- it’s fun but I don’t ever want to spoil my passion for running with a injury caused by other sports rather than running itself.

I feel disappointed at myself. I hope to get myself back to track and that my knee injury isn’t so serious as it feels like right now. I hope that my knee injury will heal after a few days… but I got no idea. It all depends on how it heals and in case it doesnt heal, I gotta check out what’s wrong. I hate it. I have never had any injuries caused by sports before. Never ever. That it had to happen in the last game of 4 indoors soccer games this weekend… I had a kind of blackout when the boom-smash-knee-incident happened.

I’m so disappointed. I try to be positive and I hope that I can get back to running. I believe this is the last season I’ll ever play soccer. I feel like I can’t risk it. I like playing soccer, but not as much as I love running and playing badminton. Of course, I can get a knee injury by running as well but it’s more like wearing out-injuries after a long time of running. In soccer, anything unpredictable or unexpected or unmotivated can happen, which can make it more serious in both the shorter and longer run.

Let’s hope for the best and that my marathon training isn’t over… that it’s only on a time-out-phase for a few days until I know more. I believe I’m gonna get crazy if I can’t run the next days. Gotta keep myself busy with any other form of exercising that doesn’t require much use of knees.

Full Moon Race

I feel so totally challenged to run the 50 miles (about 80 km) race called Full Moon Race from Haväng to Ystad that is across the 6-1 points of Österlen’s Skåneled. So totally challenged! I would really like to run that race, but I don’t really know if I will have energy enough to finish that race. The race is on July 24 and starts 8.30 p.m. Finishing time should be between 6-12 a.m. the next day. It would be a real experience! Anyways, I will not say for sure if I’ll participate in that race until I have finished both Copenhagen Marathon and Öresundsbroloppet (Half Marathon). I will see after how I feel after that and see if I still want to do it. If not, I will definitely do a triathlon either this July or August (either Sövde or Åhus Triathlon, or maybe both?).

I can’t believe it is 2 months and a few weeks to go until Copenhagen Marathon. I am so excited!

The Hurt Locker, 6 Oscars? A total joke!

I really don’t understand why the movie The Hurt Locker won six Oscars. Especially the Best Picture Oscar, it just doesn’t make sense at all. The movie was not excellent. Neither was it such a bad movie. But it is definitely not a Best Picture-quality. It’s simply a bad joke. The movie was not so much different the other war movies made the last ten years- and yet this one wins the Best Picture Oscar? Like I said, it just doesn’t make sense.

Its been a few awesome days. February has been a great month and its still so much more to go.

Awesome party last Saturday, and it will be another party tonight again. It’s been a lazy week as I had no lectures, but the laziness was really needed as I have had a crazy time over the weeks. I had my last lecture for the first of four courses this semester yesterday. Spent the afternoon after the lecture with my grandma and grandpa, which is always appreciated. I had a delicious dinner and I got to stroll down the memory lane when I looked through grandma and grandpa’s photoalbums. Its unbelievable how the years have flied by. I don’t feel like twenty years old. I feel like the last ten years have passed with a maximum speed.

After the cosy afternoon with grandma and grandpa, I went to the movies with a few awesome friends and watched Valentine’s Day which was pretty fun. The movie itself was no real success but I enjoyed the few really funny scenes. I was especially surprised at the fact of Jessica Biel succeeding in being real funny. I didn’t know she had that talent, but I’ve been proven wrong. Watch the movie if you want some good laughs, but don’t expect a great movie.

Now, I’m happy because my essay is turning to be a great one. I hope to make it one of my best papers ever, because the subject I’m writing about is really very interesting and fun to write about. Due Thursday so I feel kinda in a hurry but at the same time, I know I can finish the paper in time. I’m also excited for the upcoming trip to the USA. Only days left!

The Vampire Diaries

Just started watching the Vampire Diaries and it’s pretty good. It reminds me a great deal about Twilight though, but is at the same time its own kind. Worth a watch if you like mysterious, dark shows and if you liked Buffy.

Since a friend told me to update this blog, I guess I should make her happy.It’s five days into February and life is great. I’m a bit fed up with the snow but other than that, I don’t complain. I had a seminarium last Thursday that was really interesting. I think I had never been so nervous, not even when I did the presentations at the Teachers’ Programme last fall. This was something different because my group was the last one to do the presentation and I was the last one in the group to do my part. Also, it was a subject that was hard to grasp at first but when we finally got it, it was pretty easy to do some reflection over. I was even the one to conclude the group’s reflections with a question to discuss. My God, I think I was pulsing everywhere in my body. I had a great interpreter though so I think I managed it good.

It’s been a great running week as well. Last month, I ran a total of 235 kilometers, averaging 50-60 km a week.

It’s 2.40 a.m. and I should definitely go to sleep. I got home for about 1 hour ago from working at the deaf club, where there was a poker tournament, which was actually a very interesting night. I have been working there a few times, but tonight it was a bit unpleasant when I had to solve some conflicts with some guests. Despite that, the night ended okay with other nice guests that made the atmosphere somewhat better.

The first thing I do tomorrow is to go out for a run.

It’s gonna be a fully occupied week…

Practically, today is the only day I can relax this entire week. But, I won’t relax. I can relax when I’m dead.

Anyways, I will go running soon and then it’s badminton and soccer practice tonight. I will also get some studying done today. Tomorrow, university 8-10 and 13-14, lunch with two friends, work 19-21 and then off to the night train to Stockholm where I change train on Thuesday morning to Falun. Back from Falun on Thursday night, about 11 p.m. Friday, university 9-11. Saturday- Gocart 13.30-1500, then work at the deaf club 16.00 until it’s closed. Sunday, 20 km running. Of course I will get some running done on Wednesday, Friday and Saturday as well. So, a fully occupied week with other words. Next week should be a lighter week, but I can’t say for sure. I have seminarium next Thursday, so there will be some group work before then. I don’t complain though.

23 days left until I leave for the United States for the sixth time, but first time since 2007. It’s gonna be awesome seeing friends I haven’t seen for such a long time.
