Sunny Beach, Bulgaria – July/August 2009
My name is Petra. I’m a happy and easy-going girl who is extremely active in many ways, who loves to talk with people and enjoy life. My biggest passions in life are running, traveling, meeting new people, reading gripping, captivating and unputdownable novels and watching movies. Few things that I can’t live without are my running shoes and my passport.
I also like reading, writing, photographing and getting into random, but thoughtful, debates with people. I hate politics; I am pretty engaged in the debates of politics, though, but not involved in any party. I have my own opinions in everything. I’m proud of being deaf and I believe in deafhood. I think there is a lack of information about the beauty of the deaf culture and the deaf pride in the outside world. Hopefully, that will be changed.
I have many dreams, among them are to do Hawaii Iron Man, Swiss Alphine Marathon and many of the marathons in the world; for example New York, Berlin, London, Honolulu, San Francisco, Melbourne and Paris. So far, I have run the Stockholm Marathon and the 30k race at Lidingöloppet, Stockholm. Coming up next is Copenhagen Marathon next May.
I’m planning an around the world trip whenever I’ve saved up enough money. In that trip, I’ll make sure to go to Australia/NZ, Asia, South America, Africa, Ireland, Sicily and Austria as well as Alask and Hawaii.
My “secret” desire is to be a private airplane pilot as well as to be a documentary movie director, or to make a stand-up comedy. Currently, I’m a student at Lund University, studying the media and communications course. I also study a minor course, Film and history.
